Objective:

Design and Development of a Low Cost Tailored Standalone Hybrid Power System.. It aims to fulfill the basic life necessities of electricity for two of the most underprivileged rural villages in Egypt. Also, the project aims to create a cost-effective standalone hybrid power system to supply electricity to the critical buildings of the villages relying on renewable energy resources.

Description:

Misr El Kheir Foundation (MEK) is a non-profit development institution. Misr EL Kheir is established to mitigate seven key areas that have been selected for human development namely: Health, Education, Scientific Research, Social Solidarity, Aspects of Life, Civil Associations development, and Integrated Developments. This project aims to mitigate the problems of electricity in underprivileged rural Egyptian villages by promoting solutions utilizing renewable energy

Project Challenges:

The project is performed in rural villages where the public infrastructure hardly exist in these provinces. Furthermore, the scarce of weather stations in these areas to measure the wind speed which is the main design aspect upon which the wind turbine specs are determined

Outcomes:

The nominated villages, Sayedna-Al-Khedr and Sayedna-Moussa Villages have been entirely supplied with green electricity generated by the tailored standalone wind turbine proving that renewable energy could provide the solution to the basic life necessities of electricity to the underprivileged rural Egyptian villages
